About Me

Hi, I'm Jess,

A BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist Specialising in OCD, Rumination & Anxiety treatment.

I chose to train as a psychotherapist following a 15-year career in adult mental health social work. Through that work, I realized the part I loved most was the emotional support I could offer people going through difficult life events – and I wanted to deepen that skill.

But my journey to becoming an OCD and anxiety therapist isn’t just professional. It’s personal too.

Why I Specialise in OCD and Rumination

I personally spent years not knowing how to balance the ongoing chaos of life, desperately seeking moments of peace and calm amid the curveballs that life inevitably throws at us. When my daughter was born I developed OCD but I had no idea at the time that was what it was. I know what it’s like to live too much in your head, trying to think your way to certainty when certainty doesn’t exist.

Through a combination of my own therapy, retraining as a psychotherapist, and a whole lot of patience, compassion towards myself, and practice, I’m testament that it is possible to recover from OCD, get out of your head and back into life.

I’d love to help you do the same.

My Approach to OCD and Anxiety Therapy

I whole heartedly believe anyone can recover from OCD with the right treatment.

I use evidence-based therapies including:

∙ CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

∙ ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) including Rumination focused ERP for mental compulsions

∙ ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) principles

∙ Distress tolerance skills

∙ Metacognitive Therapy skills

My specialty is helping people who struggle with mental compulsions, rumination, and intrusive thoughts – the kinds of patterns that don’t look like “typical” OCD from the outside but are just as exhausting.
